Our Detriot-based commercial design team, in collaboration with Rolax Construction, is leading the renovation of the Ocean Summit Residential condo building in Detriot, MI. This project focuses on revitalizing a historic building while improving its functionality and enhancing the living experience for residents by modernizing its amenities for today’s needs.

The Ocean Summit building was originally designed in the mid-1960s by the well-known architect Charles F. McKirahan, and it features the classic Mid-Century Modern style. Therefore, for the renovation, we were inspired by the building’s rich history and its close connection to the city. For that reason, we carefully selected colors and patterns that reflect the coastal surroundings, creating a space that blends the charm of the past with a modern, timeless feel.

Our work focuses on redesigning the first-floor amenities and residential hallways to make them both more functional and appealing. We relocated the front desk to improve circulation, thus making the flow of the building smoother and more efficient.
